During this presentation, Lindsey Hopkins, a Child Family Advocate from The Child Center will discuss how to promote resiliency in your child. There are so many ways a caregiver can encourage their child’s well-being. During this time it can be a challenge to promote positivity, however, this presentation, will encourage you to put things into perspective. As a caregiver, you play a crucial role in promoting confidence and self-esteem in your child. It is important to take care of YOU. Your children look up to you!

Lindsey Hopkins is a Child and Family Advocate, at The Child Center. The Child Center, is a Child Advocacy Center, that serves child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and children who witness violent crimes.
Lindsey began her education at St. Charles Community College where she received her Associates degree in Human Services. Next, Lindsey received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Child Advocacy Certificate from UMSL. Finally, Lindsey received her Master’s in Social Work with an emphasis in Family Practice from UMSL in 2019. Throughout her education, she has completed over 2,000 hours of internships with the following agencies: Saint Joachim and Ann Care Service, St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office-Victims Services, The Child Center, and Children’s Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis. During her internships, she focused on child trauma and children with problematic sexualized behaviors. She began her career at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery providing crisis support to children and families. Her career focuses on children and families who’ve experienced crisis or trauma. In addition to direct work with families, Lindsey is an Adjunct Professor at St. Charles Community College, where she teaches Human Services courses.
