Diabetes Self- Management Education Program: Living with diabetes can be challenging. That’s why physicians, diabetes educators and dietitians at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital will work with your doctor to provide high-quality health care and treatment of the disease. All treatment plans are personalized to each individual patient. Their Diabetes Self-Management Education program is certified by the American Diabetes Association. Registered dietitians and a diabetes educator lead the group classes, which are provided at no charge. Physician orders are required for services.

Advanced Wound Care Center: The Advanced Wound Care Center treats a number of conditions including diabetic wounds, pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, complex soft-tissue wounds, traumatic wounds, and infected wounds.

Through advanced and individualized care, they manage chronic and hard-to-heal wounds so they heal quickly and completely. Their center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals with specific training in the latest treatments, which include the only hyperbaric chamber in St. Charles County. It’s state-of-the-art care that promotes optimal healing.

Chronic Disease Management: While diabetes is a serious disease and is costly, it is manageable. Living with diabetes requires constant tracking, careful meal planning and proper medication. Regular testing will help you keep track of your blood sugar levels.

New services through our Disease Management program will assist you and your medical provider in taking control of your well-being. These services include fasting glucose test, hemoglobin A1C test, and on-site (express) glucose check. To make an appointment for these services, please call 636-949-7484.

Dietitian Outpatient Services: Nutrition is an essential component of health care. Individuals with a variety of conditions and illnesses can improve their health and quality of life with proper nutrition.

Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital offer appointments free of charge, but a physician referral is required. Appointments are available on Wednesday and Thursday. They see patients 18 years of age and older. Reasons for referral include the following, but are not limited to:

Adolescent and Adult Substance Use Rehabilitation: If you are looking for recovery from substance use, their expert staff can help. PFH Treatment Services provides an array of specialized services to help stabilize lives and move toward healthy living.

Prevention Services: In Missouri and Kansas, prevention services are offered to prevent future generations from suffering the problems related to substance use.

SATOP: When you receive an alcohol or drug related traffic offense, you are required by law to be referred to a Substance Abuse Traffic Offenders Program, or SATOP. SATOP is a state-certified network of comprehensive programs which provides an appropriate response to alcohol and drug related offenses. PFH is the SATOP provider for Northern Missouri.

ALEX: Alternative Learning EXperiences (ALEX) provides education support and substance abuse intervention, in partnership with local schools, for students who need help. Working with young men and women, and their families, our innovative team assists individuals in overcoming addiction to drugs and/or alcohol while earning credits toward their high school diploma or GED.

Compass Health Network r treatment services work on the specific and individualized needs of each person and his or her family. They work closely with community resources, recovery support providers, and experts within their organization to provide whole-person care for everyone. Treatment levels range from early intervention to residential services, but might be intensive outpatient programming or day treatment programming based on a personal assessment.

Early Intervention for Adults: What is a substance use disorder?
